About
I tailor piano lessons to the needs and wants of my students. I start them right away playing with backing tracks as soon as they master reading music.
Instilling a love both of playing and composing/arranging to children. I love jamming with my students in order to give them a feel for playing and relating to other musicians.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Interview first, then I compose an individual lesson plan for him or her.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Applied Piano Performance Degree from Ithaca College school of music. I have taught piano from 1977 over the years to this current time. I have done extensive arranging and recording since 2001, and am currently involved in teaching piano and guitar in a number of venues.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20 per half hour (recommended for beginning children 11 and under) and $30 per hour. Lessons must be purchased in packages of 4, and paid in full cash, check or money order after the first lesson. Lessons may be rescheduled or cancelled for any reason. I request 24 hours notice when possible. I leave to the discretion of the student or student's parent or guardian concerning inclement weather and snow days. Thank you.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching followed as a normal adjunct to piano performance after my graduation in applied piano in May 1977. I taught sporadically over the years, until March 2017 when I joined the teaching staff at Music and Arts in Colorado Springs.
What types of students have you worked with?
The ages of my students have ranged from 5 to 84. I work with young children, teenagers and adults of all ages.
I have also worked with exceptional children such as have Cerebral Palsy amd ADHD. My students range from complete novices and 5-year-olds, to teenagers to the elderly. I have taught everything from complete novice all the way to performers of Clair De Lune. Some are highly motivated and some are conjoined by their parents into taking something they have neither aptitude nor inclination.
