Gwen's Studio
About
I have been an artist since I was a little girl, I started out writing short stories and poetry. Influenced by my artistic mother I started drawing and painting and applying my creative self to all mediums through out my life.
I have taught children arts and crafts, managed set design and production for a non-profit theather for children. I have been a member of artist guilds and collabrative art projects.
Since moving downtown I have painted a collection of over 60 paintings of Denver Architecture, series of Masqurade masks that I continue to show around the Denver area in cafe's and galleries.
I have hosted open studios and workshops, featuring myself and other artists. I love getting together with people who are creative. Most of my workshops are by donation only.
My closest major intersection is Colfax and I-25. I live across the street from a park and have a bright sunny studio with a large work table plus plenty of all the supply's you need for any number of art activities.
I have had the pleasure of sharing my skills in watercolor, drawing, acrylic, set design, masqurade masks, clay and recycled objects. I am a great listener and have plenty of paitence so no matter what you are interested in I am confident you will walk away with some skill to make creative and interesting art.
I use visual aids and provide you hands on instructions as learning tools, beginning with basic design elements.
Thank you for taking the time to read, what I hope to be an insperation for you to commit to your interest in art today.

I grew up with a family of artist, studied art at Colorado Institute of Art. Have belonged to numerous art groups and orginizations since the late 80's.
I started teaching art when I was 13 years old, at our church. It was a summer art program for kids, this was just crafts and outdoor art adventures. I had to plan each class and order supply for 30 kids.
I went on to teach watercolors to seniors, participate in a non-profit kids theater as stage manager. I created all set designs and construction for two productions. This was so much fun it really got me into working more wth my hands. So I make all kinds of art.
What I love is the diverstity and balance art provides a person. Its a way of exspressing yourself, its filling a space with something you love, its sharinng yourself to others without having to say a word.
