About
I have been painting in watercolor and oil since 1989 and have taught students and adults. I have worked with many talented instructors, and studied and experimented with techniques in classes and independently through visiting museums. I love to share my knowledge with students and teach them how to develop their own style. Personalized instruction is the most effective way to begin to achieve life-long skills and mastery.
I love to research, experiment, learn and shate my knowledge about the particular properties of paint. The student then has the freedom to form their own vision. I love-limitless growth-learning from the past to create fresh ideas for today and move toward the the future.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know what type of art they like, where their skill level is at, and what medium they want to explore. Then I ask if they want to paint from life, or have a design idea, and offer suggestions. I then do a quick demo to show them what I'm thinking, and my approach. Then we do a bit of work, if their are any stuggles, I try to aid in finding solutions. I like to give lot's of encouragement and information about books or videos they can study between sessions so they can improve more rapidly and at their own pace.
