About
My teaching approach: I believe each student deserves a program tailored to their own needs. I develop a program that will not only address these requirements but will be fun as well. Learning To Read, Harmony, Bassline Construction and Theory will all be included. I have written the following 7 books: Teach Yourself Rock Bass; Teach Yourself Fretless Bass; Improvising Rock Bass; The Harmonic Colours for Bass; 6 String Bassics and The Bassis for Transformations-Patterns For All Bass Clef Instruments. Here is a video of my playing at the Asbury Park Blues and Jazz Fest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SoHRbxBdSw&spfreload=10 And here is a video of me performing in Germany https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYYUgmNIuhg&spfreloa My influences are: Jack Bruce Jaco Pastorious James Jamerson Stanley Clarke Donald "Duck" Dunn Bootsy Collins My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: I can teach Monday-Thursday 11AM-3PM Bass Techniques: Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: For the first lesson we will go over the basics. I would like to see how you play and how you traverse the neck. Are your hands in the right position? Do you know your scales? How about chord theory? Most importantly, how is your feel? This shouldn't take long! A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: The bass lesson starts with warmups, we work on scales, chords, theory and because I can teach all genres, we will work on different techniques depending on the style of music you are interested in. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: My ideal bass student is someone who wants to learn, knows that they must do the work and who is responsible and on time
I love deseminating the information and seeing the lightbulb go off in my students head
