Q & A

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Our first meeting is an informal consultation, you will see the studio, be able to share where you are in your art journey and where you would like to be.  It is also a chance to see my work, hear more about how I approach teaching, and explore if we will have a good rapport.  If you would like to come for lessons, I will propose a customized curriculum, tailored just for you!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended art school and have studied visual arts my entire life.  I have also studied principles of arts education.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Private art lessons start at $35 per hour with additional fees for studio provided supplies.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching art at summer camps over ten years ago and loved it.  I have been teaching ever since!

What types of students have you worked with?

I teach from three year olds through adults and beginner through advanced.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

i recently helped a teenage student prepare her portfolio for applying to a competitive art program.  It is exciting to help my students pursue their dreams!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Meet your teacher in person!  If you are comfortable, you will have the best learning experience.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Where would you like to be with your art in six months?  A year?; How do you learn best?
