Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I invite new clients to send an inquiry for interest to [email protected]. From there we will coordinate a time to complete an introduction call so that I can introduce myself, but also learn more about your goals, barriers, and overall health history. From there we will schedule a time to meet in person for a physical assessment and measurements. At that time I will make a suggestion on the best plan moving forward and together we will build the right program for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from UCF with a BA in Interpersonal Communications. I have worked in various gyms as a personal trainer as well as a personal training director responsible for the success of my staff of trainers and the clients I place with them. I hold certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine for personal training, corrective exercise, sports performence enhancement, and mental toughness. I also have a passion for indoor cycling and hold a certification through Schwinn and have been teaching cycle for 6 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies on time, schedule and budget. We will work together to customize a program that meets all your needs.
How did you get started teaching?
I became a personal trainer when I severly injured my low back squatting in the gym after 15 years of being a gym rat. I realized through my education just how little I knew about the body and what it takes to be pain free, inflammation free, and deliver peak performence. I also realized that my health was in my own hands. Once injured I spent over a year in the medical system searching for answers and relief of my pain to only be given more pills, more therapy, more shots, and even worse quality of life.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with clients with food addictions and unhealthy relationships with food. I work with middle aged men and women who are diagnosed pre diabetic or have high cholesterol and have been told by their physician they can reverse these diagnoses with proper diet and exercise. I also work with people who have chronic inflammatory diseases like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. I have had many clients in their 70's and 80's who are experiencing extreme bone loss and need to increase bone density. I have also worked with clients just out of surgical rehab for knees, shoulders, hips who find themselves at the end of their rehab but not yet comfortable working out on their own. I have also worked with teenagers and young adults to establish good eating habits and teach them how to workout properly. In addition I work with individuals who have a serious range of motion issues and movement limitations from injuries or the type of work they are in that contribute to chronic low back pain, shoulder pain, and a decreased quality of life. And of course anyone who is looking for general body fat reduction, body recomposition, toning, and muscle building, and workout programs or nutrition to teach them how to live better.
