M.D. Brunson Golf Academy
About
With over 20 years of experience in the game, playing from Junior golf to Professional Golf I know what it takes to get to the next level. I have taught at every age and skill level. Working under a top 100 PGA instructor at the Rick McCord Golf Academy, I have learned the techniques and skill set it takes to help any player acheive their goals in the game. As someone who was a PGA apprentice, and a player on many professional tours in Florida, while working as an assistant pro, I have seen all levels of the game. I have given numerous lessons. I wont just show you what to do, I will explain the reasons why certain things happen in the golf swing. My job as an instructor is not to just show you how to hit a golf ball correctly, but to get you to understand the feeling it takes to properly hit the ball. With video recording, and breakdowns of the swing at every stage, I guarantee that you will be a better player, and have a better understanding of the game.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Spending the first 15 minutes just talking and understanding where their game is and where they want it to be. Trying to get a feel for their knowledge of the game, as well as what other sports they have played to have things to relate to throughout the lesson. Once we have established what your experience is, I will start observing and explaining what I am seeing where we can adjust. I dont want to give everyone the same exact swing, I want to perfect the swing that makes you feel comfortable.

Men and Women handicapp from 2-20
Describe a recent event you are fond of.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is patient, and willing to teach you the concepts of the swing. Someone who isn't going to cut you off at the end of the hour just because the time is up. A good instructor will make sure that you have a concept down so you know the feeling of when you do something wrong. When you can feel your golf swing and know what is correct or incorrect, you can fix your swing on your own without seeing your instructor, and you will know WHY your ball is not going where you want it to. Its all about the why.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Figure out how dedicated you are to the game and what you are wanting to accomplish by meeting with an instructor.
