About me: Robert is a recording artist, composer of originals, music arranger, and performer of the fingerstyle guitar. He is both a master of the classical guitar and steel-string guitar. Robert is a professional fingerstyle guitarist who has performed for most of his life, and currently performs for weddings and special events. Robert was born and raised in New Orleans and lives in Naples, Florida.
Background: Robert studied classical guitar under the master virtuoso "Frank Martinez" while living in New Orleans. Frank studied under the world's most famous and renowned classical guitarist "Andres Segovia." He also played the piano at an early age prior to the guitar.
His Music: Robert's originals have been played on various TV shows, radio stations in the U.S. and published in national guitar magazines. Robert knows both music notation and tablature. All his music is written out note-for-note. He is a recording artist with 6 CD recordings. His fingerstyle repertoire includes modern covers, pop, rock, country, tropical, variety, classical, romantic, spanish, reggae, broadway, movie and theatre themes, holiday season, and originals.
Performances: Robert's performances provide quality entertainment through his brilliantly mastered music, mesmerizing and capturing audiences of all music genres and ages. He has performed for hundreds of venues (weddings and events) in Florida, Oregon, Missouri, Washington, Arkansas, Louisiana, and South Africa. Robert was the house musician at the Hot Springs BrauHaus for 6 years and the Pleasant Hill Valley Country Club (when living in Hot Springs, Arkansas).
His Technique: Robert's refined classical fingerstyle technique allows him to produce wonderful sounding three-dimensional compositions that have won the hearts of many listeners.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will first determine the students level of playing from beginner to intermediate. Beginners will be shown proper technique, basic skills, music notation and tablature, some scales, and proper placement of the left and right hand fingering. The student will methodically progress through exercises then arrangements. The main thing is have fun learning!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have professionally taught private guitar lessons for a few years. I performed as a professional guitarist for hundreds of weddings and special events. All my music is written out in both music notation and tablature, which is normally unheard of for a guitarist.
