About

Baseball/softball is my passion. Having now coached for more than 12 seasons in both softball and baseball at various levels, and currently baseball head Coach for East Lee County High School first season. Previous head coach for the SFCA middle school and JV. In 2020, we finished our season undefeated, including winning the championship in the GCAC.

My passion has awarded me the opportunity to fulfill a dream as a coach with my own state of the art facility to coach within. As a former D1 pitcher, I know what it takes to bring you to that level, and beyond. Within the past year, I also launched a new training system for the baseball/softball swing, currently patent-pending! This also includes an attachment to work with player arm development. We will be focusing on arm strength and protection of support muscles.

The Hit Assist training system is a series of batting drills designed to optimize maximum potential energy in the batter's pre-swing load. Utilizing our patent-pending training system, The Hit Assist, participants will have an opportunity to diagnose and work towards correction in their swing.

**No purchase of our training system will be required to attend these power-hitting training camps or personal lessons. The Hit Assist will be available at a camp-attendee discount as well as a sizeable discount for my clients.

Availability for closed-team training sessions baseball and softball, hitting, fielding and pitching*

We focus on proper weight-shift and distribution during the batter's approach. By also eliminating any wasteful motion in a swing, this will allow the hitter to have better timing and a better swing path, resulting in better on-plane efficiency. In highlighting the main focus on increasing power in our swing, we will help diagnose and improve the batter's load by way of increasing separation and rotational energy principles.

Camp-attendees and batting clients have noticed immediate improvement in attack angle approach, increase in: power, bat-speed, rotational force and much more as verified with Blast Motion* swing-tracing technology. We offer principles in training that can further be replicated by the hitters at home and at the field.

Our focus is to better the hitter or pitcher at whatever level they currently are competing in. "Don't aim to just make contact; but, look to drive any pitch to any side of the field, with authority."

All trainings and camps will be headed by Southwest Florida Christian Academy's baseball coach and inventor of The Hit Assist, Coach Jason Derkevics. All camps and lessons will be held at the amazing Southwest Florida Christian Academy baseball complex, home of the SFCA Kings.

Also, I am as old-schooled as they come, no batting gloves sort of player (Still active) and coach. I do however, heavily rely on video analytics paired with my tracing technology usage. Camp attendees and clients for lessons will have the option for me to film various segments of mechanics, i.e. Batting/ Pitching.

Once our 1 hour session** is complete, the reality is I go back and add another hour or so analyzing that footage, setting goals for our next lesson or camp. Each client and/or camp attendee that participates in the video analytics will receive a copy of my report. I am a firm believer that mechanics make the player, or at least allow that player to optimally perform when taught right. Therefore, I pair your analytics against various all time greats that I have mapped out, and traced their analytics after counteless hours of footage breakdowns. You will receive a copy of my report, free of charge. Included will be suggestions for you to work on away from our lessons and in the game, and also mapped out target points through those analytics to strive for.

"When practice has not made me perfect, I must then perfect my practice."

Coach Jason Derkevics

My son has been training with Jason for 4 wks. Jason has developed and adjusted my sons pitching mechanics. Within the first 2 wks I can already see how productive his trainings have been. I highly recommend Jason to help and correct your players development.

Coach Jason is excellent! My 10u son really liked Coach Jason and greatly enjoyed the hitting lesson saying it was better than any other hitting lesson he has been to before. Coach Jason zeros in on the mechanics down to the smallest detail to get the proper hitting technique and for more power using the momentum from the whole body. Coach Jason has excellent communication with coaching the player and informing/involving the parent in the process. We are looking forward to our next lesson and for pitching instruction too! Highly recommend and what a beautiful facility!

My experience with Hit Assist has shown me a well-designed product that promotes proper load generation resulting in better contact and superior improvement in generating power.
You can tell this product was developed by a coach or a hitting instructor.
    Well worth the investment.
