About
NOW OFFERING LESSONS BY FACETIME!
I am a private Piano teacher, with a Music Degree in Piano performance and private teaching. I enjoy teaching all ages and all levels. Some of my students enter Festivals and Competitions. Others simply play for enjoyment. I offer for students to participate in 3 recitals a year, so students are constantly working on performance pieces in addition to scales, technique and sight-reading.
Find out more about me at Amy's Piano Studio on Facebook. I have pictures posted of recitals, videos of my students performing and even performances of me.
I love to teach and I love to see the enjoyment that others get from learning to playing the piano. It is especially rewarding watching students learn and grow over the years.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA in Music (Piano) with emphases in Performing and Private Teaching.

Monthly fee:
$90.00/month
How did you get started teaching?
I took teacher training courses in the world renown Suzuki Method at Queens University at Kingston, Ontario. Having completed that course, I was hired at a local music store. I completed my degree and subsequently became an independent studio.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and all levels. I have also worked with special needs students including blind, ADHD and autistic students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check their credentials! Many piano teachers have a degree in music but their specialty may not be piano.
You might find out how long they've been teaching and if they belong to any music organizations like the Federation of Music Clubs or Music Teachers National Association. If so, they have colleagues they work with and are often up-to-date with events and music. They also would be in the know about festivals and competitions.
