Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Private or Group Sewing classes are fine. I like working with students that like to be creative and willing to think outside the box.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Genuinely love to sew. Attended a technical high school and did sewing from grade 9 to 12. Assisted in making costumes for school plays, independent projects, helping my mom run Chase's Ladies Wear. Sewing is a creative outlet that this generation may enjoy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$50.00 / hour individual lessons.
$250.00 / hour for group of 5 the sixth student is free. Group sessions limited to 6 students.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching comes naturally to me. In high school my sewing teacher always sent the other students to me with their questions.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught private lessons on beginners sewing, I have also taught groups at Pathfinder clubs. I always said I grew up under the pedal of a singer sewing machine. As early as I can remember I was always at the foot of the sewing machine making things from the scraps that fell to the floor. Hence the name Glad Rags!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I liked dress for success because it helps women in dire circumstances come together to do things together. This organization has helped many women be ready for their next interview look presentable and land that next job.
