Hello!
My name is Andrea and I am a recent FIU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I've been teaching swim lessons for 8 years with ages 13 months-adults. I've also worked with children as an Elementary School Teacher's Aide. Prior to coaching, I was a competitive swimmer (10 yrs) and a water polo player (4yrs).
Mi nombre es Andrea y soy graduada reciente de FIU con una licenciatura en psicología. He estado enseñando lecciones de natación durante 8 años con edades de 13 meses-adultos. También trabajé con niños como ayudante de un maestro de escuela primaria. Antes de entrenar, era una nadadora (10 años) y un jugador de waterpolo (4 años).
I love teaching swimming because it allows me to continue being a part of the sport I love and it is rewarding knowing you are teaching children a skill that can save their life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Get to know student or family. Evaluate what skills they already know and their goals for the lessons. If it is an infant or child, usually dedicate first lesson to getting them acquainted with the water and teaching basic skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Previously: Lifeguarding, WSI, and AED certified ; Currently: CPR & First Aid certified.

Basic skills / water adjustment & survival:
30 minutes: $25 per swimmer
1 hour: $55 per hour (private)
1 hour w/ more than 1 swimmer (discount): $70
Competitive Lessons (one swimmer):
40 minutes: $40
1 hour: $70
1 hour w/ more than 1 swimmer discount: $100
How did you get started teaching?
Started teaching at the age of 15, while simultaneously being a competitive swimmer and water polo player. I was given the opportunity by a former coach.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 13 months and older. Both English and Spanish speaking. Also worked with students exhibiting the following: ADHD, ADD, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, & Down’s Syndrome.
