Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will chat for a few minutes to discuss goals, injuries, past experiences, and expectations. I will suggest certain exercises and create a plan for my new students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took a Yoga teacher training course in Costa Rica 2014. I am also a pharmacist in a hospital, and I have trained as a stress management specialist for cardiac patients.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge $50/hour, so if this is for one person or for a group it is the same price. In a group class, $10 per student is the norm.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been doing yoga since I ruptured my L4 and L5 vertebrae in 2010. As yoga helped me feel better than ever, I wanted to share this gift with others. Realizing I would be doing yoga for the rest of my life was the final push to becoming trained as a teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
Atheletes, cardiac patients, gym members, beginners, meditiation students, elderly, musicians, knee/back injuries, women and men of all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is nearby who you get along with. You should never feel pressured to do more than you are comfortable with.
