Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love working with new students! First, I start off with an initial short evaluation of the student's skill set and knowledge of the game. Secondly, I key in on areas that could use improvement and give direction from a hands on point of view. I use video training in all of my sessions so the student can see their swings/serves frame by frame, and in slow motion. I will email videos and print out tips for the students to take home and practice on their own. I am dedicated to the development of every student and it is my personal passion to see them succeed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have attended many teaching academies for both Tennis and Golf. With over 15 years of golf/tennis teaching experience, I have taught hundreds of students the fundamentals of the game as well as how to succeed at the next level. I played college golf at Michigan State University, and was 4 year All-Area in High School Tennis.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$40/Hour is my Standard pricing system. I am Negotiable.
-This includes travel, gas, etc..
How did you get started teaching?
In the early days, my friends and family would ask me to take them on the range or courts with me during my workouts. I then started a following of passionate beginners that would meet me on the range for a series of free group lessons.
These days, I teach a Tennis Academy at Hunter's Green Tennis Club as well as teaching private golf lessons every weekend for the past 5 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from all ranges, from beginners to amateur golfers. I played a year in college, so I worked with some of the best golfers in the country. I have worked with many of the great coaches throughout the country and pass down my experiences to all of my students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A great moment that I will never forget was the day that I made a hole in one golfing with my dad and brother. That moment will always stick with me as a great memory that I will forever remember with my dad and brother.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend that they ask a lot of questions! Make sure that the teacher is qualified and has the experience to achieve what they are wanting to get out of it. Also, ask about their teaching process and how they intend to get your child to the next level.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should always feel like they can ask questions at will. Specifically, how they can improve their game and what exercises to practice to make them a better athlete.
