Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the student's level. For example, a beginner student, start with having the right grip and stance. Intermediate is about the mechanics as well and advance is more about how to build points and strategy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played at a 4 year institution on a full-tennis scholarship. Then, I have been coaching for more than 30 years. I'm USPTA certified tennis professional. Presently, I'm teaching a few U STA teams. A few years back, my 3.5 came in third place nationally.
How did you get started teaching?
My father is a tennis coach and started to play at an early age. Then, obtained a full-tennis scholarship at a 4 year institution.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types, beginners, intermediate and high-performance.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Traveled to USTA tennis center in Lake Nona where one of my teams competed to go to Nationals 3.5.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My future student, will learn how to play. Guarantee or you money back.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think the student and teacher have to work together to reach a common goal. For example, if I'm coaching a high-performance student, develop a plan to obtain a full-tennis scholarship at a elite school or go professional.
