If I learned, I must teach! This ancestral craft needs to continue to generations in my community and I have a gift to share. I enjoy it immensely.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach in the Zoom Sewing Room allowing you to learn in your own sewing environment, comfortable with your own tools and supplies. I've been teaching for several years via online and have very effective results. We have fun and create all types of sewing projects each month
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began sewing at 8 years and have provided valuable seamstress services to customers for years. Teaching became my passion when it was time to retire from corporate. I still take my own advanced sewing and design lessons to continue learning to share with others.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private lessons are $95 for one 2-hr sesson. To get the most of your sewing journey, I offer a subscription service for $175 per month )minimum commitment 3mos). This provides 2 private sessions per month and 100% access to me for ongoing support.
How did you get started teaching?
I joined a local sewing studio and taught group classes to beginners. Those classes grew and featured a more intermediate and advanced curriculum over time.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently visited SCAD Fash Museum of Fashion & Film - the exhibit of Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism of Costume Design. Very inspiring!

Consider a sewing instructor that matches your level of skill and will customize a plan for you. Consider a sewing instructor that will grow with your goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What kinds of classes have you taught? What's the longest time a student has been with you? What's the most challenging class you've taught? If I have a goal, what approach do you take to help me achieve my goal?
