Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take new clients through a detailed assessment to figure out where to start them off. Ill also lay out a plan for them to see exactly what we will be doing. We will then schedule their sessions. Clients who have never exercised are first taken through a phase in which all postural imbalances and flexibility issues are fixed in order to prevent future injury. Clients who have never had nutrition coaching or health coaching are slowly brought into it so that it can become a gradual lifestyle change instead of an abrupt change. This will ensure they stick to the changes. For more advanced clients, I start them at an intensity level that is based on their assessment results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified as a personal trainer by ISSA and Health and Nutrition Coach by IIN.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge by the session, which is either 30 minutes or 1 hour in length. I also do package deals with discounts.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always been a fit and active individual and hospitality oriented as well. I decided I wanted to make this life less about me and more about the people around me. Now I'm on a mission to help others live a healthy, fit, and, most of all, happy life!
What types of students have you worked with?
Most of my clients are trying to get in shape. That includes everything from weight loss, firming, and toning to putting on muscle mass.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with the personal trainer/nutritionist you connect with most. You want your sessions to be fun and challenging so that you keep exercising and eating right. You do not want it to be a bad experience. It is a lifestyle change and you have to make it enjoyable.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is their Goal, when do they want to achieve it by, why do they want to achieve it, how much is this goal worth to them, do they have any medical restrictions or concerns, and how many times a week to they want to train or get nutrition help.
