What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step in working with a new student is initiating a phone call with the guardian (or student) who is interested in lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My studies are concentrated in music performance at Kennesaw State University. Being apart of a high ranked School of Music means I have received high quality training in my instrument, pedagogy, Music Thoery, Ear training and professional collaborative events.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $40 per hour and $50 for in home lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
My teaching career began when I started my Undergraduate Degree at Kennesaw State University in 2017. My goal is to expose myself to as much of a variety of students as possible to expand my teaching knowledge.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a great variety of students from the age of 8, to the age of 53. I have experience with special needs students and learning disabilities. Many of my current students are home schooled and in middle school programs, however I do encourage any other student to try a lesson with me!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A fond event of mine was having the pleasure of meeting Kennesaw State's guest artist Allen Vizzutti. Students like myself were able to participate in his masterclasses, lessons, as well as his very own live performance. Getting to know a trumpet legend was an inspiration I will never forget.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The first thing that is most important is establishing the student's needs and asking how the teacher intends to meet these needs. Having the teacher set goals for the student is a significant factor as well.
