About
We are in the business of practical, real-life dancing usable anywhere. Our students learn to dance with any partner, on any floor, to any music, even if they have never met them, been there, or heard it before. Lead/follow skills mean the freedom to dance out at bars to ballrooms.
We give instruction for Swing, Ballroom, Salsa, Tango, Folk Dancing, Country/Line Dancing, and more. We partner with QC Motion which does Bellydancing, Pom, Zumba and more. We partner with Acupoint Health which offers Tai Chi, Motion Classes, and more.
I love that moment when a new move or skill falls into place and the dancers get to have their day made. It is so powerful and wonderful to get to be a part of that. There is growth as far as individual confidence, communication skills, and development of personal identity.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students receive a free private lesson to try out our teaching style and give us an idea of what they are looking for. Then a personalized program is created just for you. If you're not sure of what style you'd like, we'll give you several options to choose from.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Gunter has been teaching and dancing since 1989. He taught for 3 years in a franchise studio, and has been coaching the Augustana College Swing Dance Club since 2005. Most of his training came in the form of thousands of hours out dancing in real life.

How did you get started teaching?
There was supposed to be a Square Dancing unit for my gym class in high school, but the record player broke down. So, they let me teach Swing Dancing from a CD instead! The rest is history.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages, fundraisers, couples retreats, retirees/empty nesters, LGTBQ, cutural festivals, weddings, hearing impaired, after school programs, wheelchair, quinciñeras, street festivals, outdoor concerts, fitness centers, community programs, historical programs, birthdays, casinos, and pretty much anyone that has music playing.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We love the Free Concerts around the Quad Cities. They run nearly every night for June and July, and give the community a chance to see us in action.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take everything free that you can find. Then you'll maximize your value from lessons and we can help with questions that come up. Plus it's good to just get started, even if you're not sure what kind of dancing you like.
