About
In 2013, Cassie created the popular Music & Creative Play Program, Stomp and Shout Chicago. The marriage of her twenty years of teaching experience and her equally long professional acting career birthed a program that is so much more than an theatre and music program. Cassie guides minds to be curious, to be brave, to ask questions of themselves and the world around them. She does this through play and imagination and music. Cassie is a recipient of Chicago's Jeff Award for Best Actress in a musical and the 2009 winner of the New York Music Theatre Festival's next Broadway Sensation Competition. She's performed all over the U.S. and China, is a proud member of Actors Equity and graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University.
I love watching someone realize a truth about themselves. I love seeing someone understand something about communication that they didn't grasp before. I love playing and exploring and singing with people. It's joyful work!

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University with a BFA in Acting. I completed The Neighborhood Playhouse Mesiner Summer Intensive Program. Vocally, I've studied with some of the most pre-eminent music directors and coaches in Chicago and New York.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally start at $80/hr depending on what we're hoping to accomplish. I will book a studio for us to work in, if you'd like to work outside of your home. That studio rental will be included in the quote.
How did you get started teaching?
I grew up in a theatre! My parents started a theatre in Sioux City, IA two years before I was born (it's still going strong, 40 years later.) My mother is an incredible teacher and I was lucky to have her as a mentor in my early years as an assistant teaching artist. Teaching has always been a part of my mission as an artist, I'm grateful for all of the opportunities and people I've met because of it.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds! From early childhood to adults! I love them all (but have a special place in my hear for kids).
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm very lucky to sing with two of my best friends. We're called "We Three" and have sung at many venues, including Steppenwolf's LookOut! Series. This past Fall we did a concert fundraiser at The Marriott Theatre to honor the memory of our dear friend and inspiring director, Rachel Rockwell, who had passed away from cancer earlier in the year. It was a special night to be able to sing in her honor on the stage where she introduced us.
