Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At a first lesson with a new student, we work to figure out what type of learner the student is. We want to know their goals. We want to know what is driving them to learn the instrument they've chosen to study on. We'll try out different method and/or printed materials to determine which will be best suited to each student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our teachers all have multiple years of experience teaching and many hold music degrees from reputable colleges.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are $35/half hour no matter which teacher you study with at Rubato.
How did you get started teaching?
Each teacher here has a different story. Ask your teacher about their personal journey with music at your first lesson!
What types of students have you worked with?
We gladly teach children and adults of all ages at Rubato!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who does not teach from a "one size fits all" mold.
