Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All new clients receive a consultation and fitness evaluation prior to beginning any fitness routine. After the evaluation, an individual plan is prepared for the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an NASM certified personal trainer and a professionally trained boxer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer a variety of pricing options.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching boxing so I could bring my love and passion for the Sweet Science to others. Boxing is my life, and it is my mission to offer others more than just a cardiovascular workout. I teach my clients technique, footwork, defense, and expose them to the various wonders and styles of boxing. Boxing is more than just a sport to get you in really great shape, it is an art.
What types of students have you worked with?
My clients vary from those just wanting to get in better shape and have more confidence to those who are considering entering into competitive boxing. My clients range in age from young kids to seniors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Those who are looking to learn the art of boxing need to find a trainer who understands the techniques and skills of the sport. Not all boxing programs teach you the true intricacies of the sport. So if you desire to learn more than a jab, cross, and a hook, you need to find a trainer who has experience as a trained fighter.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Anyone looking to start boxing or any other fitness program or sport training need to figure out how much time they're willing to invest each week and in the long run to accomplish their goals. As far as any physical goals, be realistic. Any trainer worth their salt will not fill your head with out of reach goals and expectations.
