About
At Creative Expression for Children, (www.creativeexpressionforchildren.com), we dedicate ourselves to inspiring all children to come alive in their creativity. We work to remove the barriers of fear, pressure, and anxiety that block creative flow. Our unique programs create a safe environment for real collaboration to unfold. We incorporate meditation, improvisation, storytelling, and the natural language of play to empower all children to nurture a life long relationship with their inner artist.
I love the aliveness and the mystery of the journey when we come together to create a new story with a group of young artists. When a child lights up in their confidence through an original creation and the awareness that what they just created has value, my heart smiles.

How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved working creatively and after college I moved to NYC to nurture an acting career. I stayed there for 6 years acting, directing, and growing. My experiences and personal journey led me back home where I began co-teaching and assistant directing with a High School Theatre program. I fell in love with the teaching part of growing a script and after seeing what this work could do to grow confidence in others, I knew I wanted to find a way to teach aliveness, trust, and a sense of valuable impact through the arts. I began studying at the School of Humanity and Awareness in Atlanta, GA and through that graduate work came the passion for an entrepreneurial and coaching venture with the intention of providing more creative opportunities for kids within their public school system to know themselves as valuable changemakers.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with a wide range of students depending on the project. Private coaching includes students interested in developing core skills-age 9-18. Our classes/projects are designed for younger artists in grades K-5 as well as more advanced work for Middle School and High School students.
We have worked in Elementary schools with our Readers Theatre workshops and One Voice programs.
We have also worked with older students in our Improvisation classes.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our One Voice program is always an experience that inspires me. The students are asked to bring an original Hero's Journey play to life that has impact for their audience. They are responsible for all aspects of the production and split into teams to accomplish this. Last year, the students at Shoal Creek Elementary School wrote a beautiful story about the importance of acceptance amongst cultures. They designed and produced the entire show from start to finish including a company T-shirt that read, "No matter where you come from, you are always welcome here" and inspired their audience tremendously.
