Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is talking to my students to see where they're currently at and what goals they have. From there I build a personalized lesson plan to meet their individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started playing guitar at 14 and have been privately taught by amazing musicians including Oli Herbert of All That Remains and shred guitarist master Mathew Mills amongst many others over my 16 years of playing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first lesson is free as a time to talk and access new students. Lessons following are 30 dollars per half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
After years of struggling with my AD/HD I nearly gave up on music until I met by first teacher Oli Herbert. He broke things down in a way that I could understand and made me want to give other musicians that same opportunity. I started teaching friends and family then went from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught musicians of all levels and genres. I have helped many younger students, beginners, and those with learning disabilities meet their musical goals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher that's passionate about what they're teaching. I want to see my students succeed that's why I teach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You ask what you have on your mind. My job has to help you understand anything you are having trouble with on your musical journey.
