My teaching approach:

Over the last 25 years, I have developed a teaching method that is very easy for beginners to learn. It's simple, fun, and child friendly as well.

Guitar Techniques:

Rhythm guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

Orientation consists of learning the parts of the guitar, cleaning & protecting the instrument, how tuning works, finger numbers & hand position, how we read the diagram, and how to get started. If the student already plays some, they are asked to view the student booklet and identify what the already know.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

Basics are always learned first. Songs, strumming patterns, and scales are slowly incorporated as the student progresses.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

I like to teach students that follow our booklet by practicing and asking questions that may help in their understanding. It's also nice to have students that use the information given to get ahead so that the next session is well prepared for.
