    Frequently asked questions

One book that really shaped my teaching philosophy was Tim Gallaways the inner game of tennis. 🎾 It is said that the teacher's job is to show the student what he/she already knows. As a result, I try to be a facilitator of my students performing specific tasks and allowing them to learn through trial and error. When instruction is needed to correct improper technique or to teach a technique  I try to use visual aids, or use processes to mimic proper technique, or use metaphors to help students easily understand without putting too much thought or effort into the learning process. Most of all I try to make my lessons fun but have clear plans and objectives for each lesson.

My education was from being a tennis coach for around 4 years now and my work experience at the University of Mississippi tennis program, at a tennis club in Destin Florida, and coaching privately. Also, one experience that helped me train for my work is getting a PTR certificate

The first time I coached tennis was actually when i was invited to coach tennis at a summer tennis camp at the Ole Miss. When I was coaching I felt I never had so much fun working. Everything just felt natural and I loved the process of getting to know students and helping them learn and grow. After the camp, I did not teach tennis for another year. Fast forward it was the summer I was in the library I currently did not have a job and was finding out what I should do with my life, and a lady in my community asked me what I can do, and I said I can coach tennis so she told all her friends and within weeks I was coaching several students a week.

Many different types of children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. Probably my specialty is teenage boys beginner children around 10. However, I also have a lot of skills with adults.
