As a 30 year firefighter/EMT and a disabled Veteran I have not only taught first aid/CPR/AED but I have also performed first aid/CPR/AED on a regualar basis.
3rd Degree Stands out because the Instructor/Owner understands the reality of performing such acts. In addition to having two young daughters.
Additionally, I worked for a hospital based ambuance service and was assigned to the emergency department. I was a staff instructor at NH Fire Standards and Training & Emergency Medical Services. I served as an Assistant EMT Instructor at a local high school teaching Seniors to beome EMT's.
I received my Associates Degree in Fire Science, I am nationally certified as a Fire and EMS Instructor
I am a certified First aid and CPR & AED Instructor with the American Heart Association (AHA) and Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI).
I also teach fire safety and bloodborne pathogens classes that meet the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
When teaching fire safety classes we use a state of the art interactive fire extinguisher trainer to give you an actual experience of using a fire extinguisher.

I believe God made my purpose here on earth to teach people life saving skills. I truly enjoy meeting new people, in addition to sharing my knowledge and skills. Most of all it is fun.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We do an over the phone introduction then I provide a history of my experience in addition to how we do things. More importantly, we make it a priority to establish a comfortable rapport with our potential clients giving them the confidence of feeling safe when using our services. .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold the designation of First aid Instructor, CPR/AED Instructor, Bloodborne Pathogens Instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA)and the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI).
I hold a designation of Fire Instructor III which allows me to develop lesson plans and implement the plan.
32 years in the fire service as Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate.
20 years in the United States Air Force as a Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate.
6 years working in an a hospital based ambulance service and in the Emergency Department.
16 years teaching at the NH Fire Standards and Training and EMS Academy as a Staff Instructor.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching other units in the Air Force CPR and fire extinguisher training. I discovered I truly enjoy educating others in life saving skills.
What types of students have you worked with?
There are many types of students I have worked with. I have worked kids as young as 9 years of age on up. A number of our clients have learning disabilities as well as attention deficit disorder.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure to question his/her credibility.
