I am a music teacher in Boston Public Schools. Outside of school, I am happy to teach both kids and adults to help them find joy in creating music.
Many people think that it is impossible to play and sing your favorite songs, but it is very doable with the right instruction and practice techniques. I love seeing people learn to play the music that inspires them.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start by talking about the music they love and playing musical games. Then we get into fundamentals that they can practice, but we always make sure to get back to the music that inspired them to take lessons in the first place.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing music for 20 years. I write rock songs and I am a multi-instrumentalist. I have also worked for 10 years as a teacher, and worked students ranging from 3 years old to university students.
