I've been teaching piano privately for 4 years, during which I've encountered students from ages 4 to 40 and therefore am very familiar with the different methodologies that work while teaching young as well as old students. Mainly, I focus heavily on helping my students build an efficient playing technique while tying it into elements of sound production, necessary theory and ear training, ensuring that all these aspects of piano playing are developed simultaneously. From my experiences so far, I've come to realize that it there's no 'right' age to start learning piano at. The only requirements for one to be able to learn to play any instrument are patience and the will to learn and work hard.
