About

I am a music educator with global experience and an approach to learning that is fun for all ages. Born in Russia, I have studied in both Europe and the U.S., where I earned my second Master’s degree from Harvard University.

I have been teaching piano in private one-on-one lessons for over 20 years and Keys-for-Kids groups for 15 years. I worked as music instructor and choral director at Nashoba Brooks School in Concord and Jewish Community Day School in Watertown. Students have described me as someone who makes learning fun. I like to listen to and communicate with them, as I believe that through music you can teach a lot more than music per se: music develops social skills of cooperation, respect, listening, and encourages team work.

Nominated as Teacher of the Year by students, I taught in a model school in Kenya, was on the National editorial board of American Orff Association, and was mentioned in “Who is Who” in American Education. Fascinated by creativity, I wrote my Master’s thesis at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow on Charles Ives, traditions and innovations, and I encourage creative expression in my students.
