What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to find out what their goals are as far as a yoga practice goes. And they aren't sure we just start off with basics, strength and flexibility building, breath work, and short meditations. From there the possibilities are endless. I also like to find out about any fears, doubts, or injuries the person may have so we can work on those as well. If my students are also interested in herbal medicine, I would have a separate intake form to find out more information about them. From there I can formulate personalized teas, tinctures or salves to help with their health and wellness goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 9 years experience as a gymnastics coach, acrobatic dance teacher, and cheer coach. I have studied the human body mostly on a cellular level, but also in the areas of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and fitness. I have an associate's degree in medical laboratory science and still continuing my education. I am a certified herbalist and also continuing those studies to receive my community herbalist certification. I received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Open Doors Yoga studio in Weymouth MA. I currently teach group classes at Open Doors in Hingham.
