Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to meet the children and their families before coming into the first class. Having them feel comfortable and know what to expect when they come to the studio is a priority.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for over 25 years, 17 of them being at CFDA II. I trained at local studios, The Hartford Conservatory and attend classes in NYC as well as Dance Teacher Conventions.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Please contcat me for pricing. Multiple class and family discounts are available!
How did you get started teaching?
I have danced my entire life and dreamed of being a dancer in NYC.... until I started assisting my teacher. I fell in love with the children! The pride and joy that they feel when they accomplish something new, something they have been working hard on, is the best feeling for me in the world!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with children of all ages and skill levels. Girls, boys, it doesn't matter! I have also worked with children having disabilities, from ADHD to MS. We have a place or everyone!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Every year we hold our annual dance recital at the local high school. It is a weekend focusing all on the dancers! Our entire dance family steps up to help, and we couldn't do it without each and every one! The dancers take the stage in costume, with beautiful music, amazing lighting and shine brighter than any star in the heavens! It is the proudest moment I could ever imagine! Every year gets better and better!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher and a studio where you are comfortable. Dance should be a positive experience from the start...
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A prospective dancer and family should feel comfortable asking any question that is on their mind. No question is too small or should go unasked! The more informed you and your family are, the better your experience!
