Bo's Guitar Lessons

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and playing professionally in the Boston-Worcester area for the last 5. My greatest joy is getting to share my love of music with others, whether that is playing a gig or helping students learn how to play a favorite song or riff.

My lessons take place over Zoom, in person in my home, or at the student’s choice of location. I can teach basic skills such as: holding the guitar or ukulele, tuning the guitar or ukulele, strumming simple chords, and reading tablature, as well as more advanced skills such as: scales and exercises, reading music, fingerpicking, soloing, and other advanced techniques.

Before diving into lessons, I like to work with my students to outline what I call their “musical roadmap”. First, we determine their current skills and knowledge (where they are), then we brainstorm to create achievable goals (destination), and finally we outline a route to get them there. Once our roadmap is created, we can work together towards goals and track progress. Every roadmap is unique to each student, and will be updated as goals, priorities, and circumstances change.

I hope to be a guide and friend to each student on a musical journey that brings them the same joy as it brings me.
