I have had the joy of guiding students' musical development for over 40 years. Graduates of my studio have received scholarships in the arts at such prestigious institutions as New York University Tish School of the Arts, Berklee School of Music, Indiana State University, Howard University, Hampton University and Bucknell University, as well as academic scholarships to Harvard University, Yale University, Dartmouth College, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Gettysburg College, Georgetown and Carnegie-Mellon.

I have a B.A. degree with a major in piano and theory from Spelman College, Atlanta, GA and a M. A.T.degree in Music History and Literature from Smith College, Northampton, MA.

I am a Hall of Fame member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, a member of Music Teachers National Association, Maryland State Music Teachers Association and the Greater Laurel Music Teachers Association.

I love working one on one with students to help them reach their musical goals. I expect my students to become proficient in technique and theory as they develop their repertoire whether their goals are to play for their own enjoyment and the enjoyment of their immediate family or to compete in local and state events.

I treasure the long-term bond I form with my students and their families as I see that, "Music is remembered long after the toys of childhood are forgotten."
