About

I enjoy teaching children and adults piano, through classical and traditional method of reading, scales, theory and technique, as well, as the Suzuki Method, for the very young pupil.

I have over 20 years experience and I am a classically trained pianist. I have a degree in music education, and I am a certified Suzuki teacher.

I give 30-60 minute lessons weekly. I have two recitals per year, which really helps the student learn to play at a higher level, and encourages them to have good performance skills, which always leads to proficiency in playing.

Mrs. Nomick customizes her lessons to each individual. Every child’s learning skills are different so she takes that into consideration while teaching. She is energetic and encouraging so the lessons are fun for the student.

My son took lessons with Donna from age five through high school graduation. Her teaching method enabled him to improve significantly year over year. She has students of all levels and adapts her teaching to match the students level. We couldn’t have made a better choice in a teacher. We are just sorry it is ending as he leaves for college,

    Frequently asked questions

I require a method book like Alfred, Bastien, or Faber. The student will bring a notebook, method book, manuscript paper to the lessons. Each week we will move through the books, as well as theory, and learn how to read and play with proper technique.

I am certified by the ‘’Suzuki of America’’ to teach Suzuki piano, from ages 4-7. I also teach note reading and piano methods such as Faber, Bastien, etc for ages 4-to adult. I evaluate the child or adult and see what method best suits their needs.

‘I have a music education degree, and have studied with several great concert pianists. Virginia Reniecke was the last teacher with whom I studied.

My rate is $100 per month. This will provide the student with 4 30 minute lessons. For advanced students, I generally teach 45 minutes to an hour lesson. The price is double for an hour lesson. The fee is always due at the first lesson each month.

When I was in college, I began my teaching career.

I have worked with students from all ages and backgrounds, and of all levels of proficiency.

I am having my annual Spring recital in three days. Each student plays one to four pieces, most by memory. They can bring as many guests as they like, it is held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. There is always a reception that folllows.

To excel at the piano, you need to practice almost every day, come to lessons weekly, and prepare for performance throughout the year.
