Philip Piasecki Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach:

I currently work as the Director of Music and Media at the Point Church in Grand Blanc. I started teaching guitar lessons a couple of years ago as a way to make some extra money on the side. My approach to teaching is to give the student practical advice that will allow them to enjoy playing guitar. They will be times where I'll have to focus on the more technical aspect of learning an instrument, but my main goal is for my students to have fun while learning the guitar.

My influences are:

Mostly contemporary worship music such as Hillsong United, Phil Wickam, and Chris Tomlin. I also listen to many alternative bands such as Mat Kearney, The Lumineers, Coldplay, and Needtobreathe.

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio or the student's home

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Monday I am available all day, Tuesday evenings, Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings and early afternoons.

Guitar Techniques:

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

In the introductory lesson I would take time through conversation to see what amount of knowledge the student has about playing the guitar. Also in an introductory lesson I would take some time to personally get to know the student, see what music he is interested in, and what their goal is with learning the guitar.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

A normal guitar lesson involved a review of the previous lesson, a warm up, then transition into the new material for the week, followed by a recap of what the student needs to be practicing for the next week. If the students ability allows us to learn songs then I would set aside time in a lesson to learn a song of the student's choice.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

A beginner student who has little to no knowledge of the guitar, but someone who is old enough to know what type of music they are interested in being able to play.
