I find out what style of music they like, how long they have been playing(if at all) any musical background they might have and where they want to go with the instrument.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

A typical lesson involves me finding out what a student wants out of the instrument and then taking the best approach to have them reach their goals. If you are having trouble with a song, want to learn a song I will show you, if you want to dive deep into the world of theory we do that too. I try to get you playing songs you want to play as quickly as possible while still giving you a well rounded understanding of the instrument.
