Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All out training courses start with basic foundations to ensure the student will be safe in a training environment. From there the class is personalized to the students needs and skill level. We training students with zero experience all the way to those with very advanced skill sets.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our instructors are seasoned, professional law enfrocement officers. Each is a subject matter expert in the area they teach. Myself I have over 20 years law enforcement experience, a majority of that spent in SWAT and training, instructor certifications from multiple state and national organizations and a black level instructor in Kali / JKD concepts.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

We give discounted rates to all veterans and first responders.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching in martial arts for over 20 years. That transformed into teaching for law enforcement over 16 years ago and now teachig those skill sets combined for the private citizen.
What types of students have you worked with?
Over the past 20 years I have taught students as young as 5 and those pushing 80! I have taught kids, adults, law enforcement officer, police academy recruits, military personnel and private citizens alike.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Last fall we hosted a women's self-defense seminar and donated all the proceeds (over $1000) to a local charity that provides resources to children that are the victims of assault and traumatic incidents. Giving back to the community is a must!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Proper certifications, experience in teaching and real world experience. These are a must. Just attending a weekend seminar does not make you a great instructor or a subject matter expert.
