About
I've acted in multiple performances, and directed many shows. After completing my Masters degree in K-12 Theatre Arts, I began teaching and directing at the high school level, and have been doing so for the past seven years. I have a vast understanding of how to work with various learning styles, skill-sets, and personalities. Courses I've taught include acting, movement, voice and diction, acting for the camera and directing. If you're looking to prepare for an audition, gain confidence in public speaking, or just explore a fun hobby, I can help you achive your goals. If you want to get the most beneficial training, it may be helpful to enlist a friend to take lessons with you. After all, a majority of acting involves collaboration with other actors. I'm willing to travel to the student in order to save them unnecsary travel or added fees for renting a public space.
It's very enjoyable to see students make discoveries about their abilities, come out of their shell, and find genuine joy and fullfilment in acting.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I'd prefer to speak with a potential student on the phone or via email to build some rapport. I'm open to answering any questions that a student may have about my background and would like to hear more about their personal goals and preferences. If we determine that I can help, then we can arrange a day and time to meet for an initial workshop where they can show me where we're starting from, and I can determine the most beneficial way to approach a lesson sequence.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Regardless of current skill level or intention to complete future lessons, the inital one hour in-person consultation would be $25. This pays for the fee I've paid to offer a quote and the time commitment.
If the client determines that they would like further lessons, the standard rate would be $25/hr + mileage.
If a student prefers to have lessons at a neutral, public location, there are rental options available starting at $15/hr which would be added to the lesson fee.
How did you get started teaching?
In my senior undergraduate year, a former professor from my freshman year reached out and asked me to TA for him. He had been impressed with my leadership and mastery of subject matter.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with a wide range of ages ranging from preschool to young adults. I've also worked with students with various abilities and backgrounds. This includes SPED, LGBTQ, and minority populations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I work front of house for an employer, and there's nothing like the opening night of a production. The energy and excitement is palpable.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
In the world of improv, we say "YES...AND". Here's my "YES...AND". Be clear and specific about what you want to focus on in your training, AND be willing and open to suggestions from the teacher about what you may also want to consider learning more about or skills you may want to develop. Also, recognize that acting is a working skill. There is always more to improve on. Don't get discouraged when given critical advice. It can be difficult to hear, but helpful.
