About

~Passion for People and their Needs: teaching music in ways that reaches, motivates and enriches the student's music and life is my passion. My teaching approach is adapted to the student's temperament-helping them use their strengths, develop weak areas and find their own musical voice.

~I teach wire strung Gaelic harp, nylon strung Celtic harp, wooden simple system flute, hammered dulcimer and music theory, in a range of styles from traditional Irish, Scottish and other Celtic music styles, Early Music (Medival to Baroque periods) to classical and contemporary.

~ Lifelong Musician, Lifelong Learning: I have 30 years of experience in teaching ranging from private lessons to large groups, in public and private schools, community centers and music schools. Teaching all ages and all abilities, have taught blind, ASD and other neuro-atypical students.

~Qualifications: Masters in Music/Ethnomusicology (Study of Music in other cultures), University of MN, 1995. Bachelors of Arts, in Music, and Pyschology. 2003 Folk Arts Apprenticeship Grant with master harper Ann Heymann, SHSA National Scottish Harp championship in 2009. Composer Teaching Artist Program with the American Composers Forum, 2010. Teaching Artist with Community Connect Program, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, 2009-2012. Many years experience as Foster parent
