About this pro

I meet you where you are, not where you think you should be. All of our sessions are 100% customized and personal. Having a daily plan is nice, but it often doesn't take into account factors such as work, nutrition, stress, sleep, family dynamic, etc. that arrive with you to your session.

Your workout should be an experience that enhances your day and gives energy to your life. Movement is key. Nutrition is supportive. Performance is a mindset cultivated from experience. Longevity (quality of life) is the product of living an aligned existence.

I get to make dreams come true. Helping someone find themselves through fitness, and sometimes athletics is a powerful thing. My clients fill my cup. I can say that fitness, living a lifestyle that prioritizes wellness, is a staple of each of my days.

Jake is professional, inspiring and reliable. His method for training is innovative, safe and smart. My fitness goals are for longterm health and vitality. He works me hard and I pushing myself, yet I never feel depleted during the day after a workout. My energy has increased significantly and I love the way I feel!

I have trained with Jake for 6 years and my entire experience has been incredibly positive. He has innovative training ideas and motivational techniques that have really worked for me. I have cut my body fat composition from 26% to 12%. This year alone I have completed 3 running events including a half marathon and 2 triathlons. Without Jake, I would have never been able to accomplish any of that. He has given me the confidence and support to make me an active person. It is a powerful feeling to know that fitness has become a permanent part of my life. I would recommend Jake to anyone that wants to better their life through health and fitness.

I’m a believer…after almost 3 years of training with Jake, through starting out to get in shape after a baby, working out through the duration of another pregnancy, then getting my body back again; I am fit, toned, and have more energy than ever before. By sticking with my routine throughout my pregnancy, I was able to have a strong quick delivery of my daughter, and recover and be back working with Jake in less than 2 weeks. Functional training works for me. It allows me to carry a 20lb baby during the day, lift my 40lb son into bed at night, and have the strength and energy to run, bike, climb or play with my kids whenever the chance arrives, and be toned and sexy without being bulky. I love that I can squeeze in a quick workout whenever I have ANY extra time in my busy day.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching/coaching/training in college, working with High School wrestlers (sport-specific coaching and mentoring). After graduation, I made personal training my profession. Problem-solving, solution creation, and working one-on-one with my clients gives me the most pleasure.

After almost two decades in the industry, I have created a process that I believe will deliver you to your most fit, healthy, and balanced self, ever.

What types of students have you worked with?

Youth Athletes to Seniors. Beginners to competitive athletes. The full spectrum. The common link is a willingness to learn and a strong spirit to guide them on their health and wellness journey.

My expertise lies in two areas. Clients seeking lifestyle solutions, balancing career and family lives benefit greatly from fitness coaching. Time is valuable, by having me in your corner we make sure none of it is wasted. Secondly, I am passionate about and effective at coaching endurance sports. I love marathon and ultramarathon running. Distance running has changed my life in profound ways. Explore, discover, search, and reveal the wonders of the human mind and body.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I coached one of my athletes to a personal best in the 100-mile ultramarathon. He took 6-hours off his best time. Very proud coaching moment.

One of my lifestyle clients achieved her goal weight, losing 30 pounds in 3 months while getting stronger, healthier, and more confident along the way.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Schedule a consultation and ask a lot of questions. The direction of the conversation should be about YOU, not them. Don't fuss over certifications. If the trainer has the image and passion for his/her respected lifestyle that you respect and admire, then you could be a good match.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How much can I sustainably invest in health and wellness? How much coaching and individual instruction do I need to be successful? How successful have I been without a coach/trainer in my corner?
