About
I have students who desire enhancing their skills and have fun along the way. I offer classes in directed drawing, but also facilitate creative choice and discovery. I taught in public schools for 28 years and there's nothing I love more ( save for my family) than making Art.
First, I think it's the friends I make along the way. And I enjoy creating challenging lessons that gently push students to take chances and learn from their mistakes. Time flies every time!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask a lot of questions. We start with the basics: types of pencils, erasers, paper to use. We practice techniques like contour drawing for example which helps the student focus on drawing what they see.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 4 college degrees! I started out in community college and after an Associate of Fine Art, I went on to the University of MO- Kansas City where I earned dual degrees in Art Education and Fine Art. Finally, after I had begun teaching, I attended Lesley University where I earned a Master's Degree of Integration of the Arts/Curriculum. For 28 years I taught grades Kindergarten-9th grade.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I've set my fee at $30 an hour. This includes the prep and set-up before hand, the supplies and lesson.
