About

My name is Edward Schlesselman and thank for entrusting me with teaching your young ball player the fundamentals of baseball. I keep a low client base so that I can remain completely focused on the students I have and not overload myself and lose track of players. My specialty is listening to the player and the parent on what they think needs help and we work together to accomplish our goals. I have played or taught baseball since Tball playing traveling baseball until High School, traveling teams in the military and after returning home and College level as well. I have coached my son and his teams from Tball to Current with an emphasis on flawless fundamentals and repetition creating an unbreakable foundation. Thank you again and I look forward to working with your player.

What I love about what I do is watching players develop and hone their skills and become better and better an truly love the game of Baseball.

Frequently asked questions

I like to ask detailed questions of the parents to find out what in their opinion should be the main focus of work.  I then like to spend just a few minutes running through very simple "show me" drills to have a better understanding of what we will focus on.  Then we take it from there.  I talk with the parents so they understand that one session won't unfortunately make all the difference, repetition is the most important piece.  Make it a reaction not a thought.

I have various years teaching a multitude of subjects.  Some baseball related and some not.  I have managed teams for over six years and I am a constant student of new and effective ways to break down mechanics into simple pieces for the student to understand and the parents as well

Well yes I do.  Here is the thing, if I could do this for free I certainly would.  I love teaching this game and helping good players evolve into great players.  Typically I charge $60 per hour lesson but I also offer a discount package of 10 Sessions Paid In Full for $500. Reducing the cost doesn't mean you get less of me just means you save some money.

I have been teaching/coaching the game of baseball for about six years which different teams.  My love for the game and being part of so many oddball situations on the field has helped me teach from different angles.  I study my players from all different levels to see what similarities in flawed fundamentals have unfortunately been taught over the years and then figure out the best way to break those down and get them back on track.

All of them.  I find out very quickly what approach will work best not just teach a blanket way.  That is one reason why one lesson is not enough.  I have to learn your child's personality so I can be effective.

Closing out the Championship game when I was about 11 years old.  Never forget that day, field and feeling.

Be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day.  Baseball is a repetitious sport.  It takes focus, fundamentals, discipline and tons of repetition to be a great ball player. Be open minded, you may have learned a certain way but it may not be correct.  Just because noone ever said anything doesn't make it right.  Be ready to go to work.  Be mentally prepared before you get there and if you have been given homework be ready to be tested on it.

Where are you now, where do you see yourself being and do you want to be the best or just good?  I can do any one of those, depends on their true motivation on where they want to take their skills and how far.  Not all players dream of the MLB, it's just a fact.
