I love bringing a rock solid and confident foundation to the band, developing great dynamics and consitantly bringing engaging performances to all types of scenarios and music types.
Learning good habits for preparation and skill building is a big part of that success.
Learning to play to the room and working with other musicains and elements is also another important piece for success.
Lastly understanding your instrument and achieving the sound you are going for is paramount. It can be really overhwelming for new players.
In my 30 years plus of drumming experience touring and performing live I have learned and used all of these skills consitantly and effectivley and had alot of great moments in doing so.
It is my intention to work with students to learn these practices and build confidence in the hopes they will experience thier own moments and experience with music.
I have always been very passionate about the drums, it is such a fun and important part of any musical expression. Being able to bring the energy level up and response is always very satisfying.
I like to teach interactively and not just play rudiments and exercises, these elements are very important and something we will always include, but I like to give my students real world perspectives on how to apply new skills to the benefit of the song immediatley and wherever they are level wise.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Evaluating where they are at understanding and evaluating a path that enables them to practice and grow both during lessons and away.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have toured, recorded many studio studio sessions, played extensively live in lots of different types of settings from clubs and intimate settings to large venues and stages.
I have been playing at church for 14 plus years as well with lots eperience in preparing for weekends and seemlessly playing confidently to a click track and being/building a foundation for the rest of the team.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching not only because i am passionate about passing on lessons learned my travels but had alot of request for lessons after differnt playing sessions both live and studio.
What types of students have you worked with?
Student of all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pick someone you feel is a good fit for you. If you can relate and communicate well you will grow faster.
Make sure the teacher has a skill level and understanding that brings solid experience to the lessons.
