NIJI NO HASHI DOJO

Ninpo and Jujutsu are very traditional disciplines.The warrior tradition known as “Ninpo Bugei” is based on the indigenous Japanese martial art of “Taijutsu,” the origins of which date back more than one thousand years.

Over the centuries, it has evolved into a unique martial discipline for training the mind, body, and spirit, by cultivating a sense of inner peace and the superior self-protection skills for which the “ninja warrior” was renowned. As several centuries passed, Ninpo Bugei Taijutsu evolved into a deadly art—this was in response to the demand for realistic self-protection skills during an era when martial arts were considered a basic survival skill of the warrior class.

The essence of training should be to: * Defend ourselves and others * Strengthen our weaknesses * Instill virtue into our hearts * Come closer to our true nature * Learn patience and endurance

Often our lives are influenced by outside forces. Some are necessary to make us stronger, and others just happen. What are we to do in those circumstances? Should we fight back? Should we try to adapt? Do we take mental notes to control that situation better in the future? Do we give in? Those questions and more continue to enter our minds.

For the past fifty years, I has studied with a variety of instructors in many martial disciplines from all around the world, including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Kendo, just to name a few. I have obtained black-belt ranking for several of these arts, and he has enjoyed learning all of them. But at the age of twenty-five, he began to study Ninjutsu, and by the time he turned thirty-six, he had discovered his true calling in Ninpo.
