Best Driving School has been a fully credited Commercial Driving School since 1996 and licensed by the state and approved by the DMV. We are insured, bonded and background checked by the state. Our daily lessons are filled with short easy activities to help you gain confidence and skill quickly. Let us show you how much fun and easy driving can be!
I enjoy the challenge of finding what works with each student. All of us are different, with different skills, needs, learning styles. It's fun to find new ways to master skills.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
NC requires everyone to have a valid permit or license (from anywhere) to practice driving. So - once you have the permit, give us a text or call and we can set up your 1st lesson on a day/time that fits your schedule. We do pickup and drop off free and work 7 days a week (including weekends). Starting is easy - all it takes is a phone call or text.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Education (K-9) and have been a certified Driving Instructor for 20 years. I did teach elementary school for a short time and tend to fill our lessons with short control activities that build confidence and skills quickly. Driving is fun.

How did you get started teaching?
I discovered early in my career that 1 on 1 teaching is for me! I love watching the fast progress and confidence in a student as they master short skills that build them into great drivers. It's an awesome job.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all types of students from young teens to older adults. We have students with limited English, or learning differences, or students that are just very, very nervous. We work with everyone and have fun.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love hearing from students when they pass the DMV test and get the license. We do take some to the DMV but others just want to learn enough from us to be safe behind the wheel to continue with family/friends. I love all of their success stories and how driving changes their lives!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Call a school of your choice and schedule 1 day. At the end of the lesson, ask yourself if the instructor made you feel comfortable, did you learn and progress? If you find a great instructor that you can talk to and they encourage you - KEEP them and schedule a course of your choice before they fill their schedule. But if the instructor isn't a good match for you - don't be afraid to move on to someone else.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If you have a medical issue (diabetes etc) or special needs - please mention it first so both the instructor and you can have a better lesson. And TALK to the instructor during the lesson. Help build the perfect lesson for your needs. By communication what you want to learn and listening to the instructors opinion - you can have a great lesson every time!
