About
I am excited to offer maker-shops to your child! I love art, learning, exploring and trying new things. I am excited to bring creativity, art and movement to kids through my classes. Most recently I have offered a series of summer and winter art classes for kids ages 7-10 and adults with developmental disabilities. I have taken studio art classes, and drama classes throughout my life and minored in studio art in college. I have experience coordinating and leading camps for children ages 6-17. I am married to Rudy and we have two boys who I love to dream and create with!
My Teaching PhilosophyI think setting the tone of a welcoming and mistake-embracing team atmosphere in the class is important. Great teachers provide both support and a challenge when teaching. I have a philosophy that I share at the beginning of every session. First, that there is no negative talk about our art or ideas or others in the class. Second that mistakes are cool and can always be turned into something else or an chance to learn something about a technique. And third, that ANYTHING can be art.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As students register for my classes, I follow up with their parents typically via email to send reminders for the class, and answer any questions. I get to know each student in class to see their comfort level and ability as well as help them get to know others in the class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
