I have been painting with acrylics and oil sticks for over 18 years. Working with beads and metal jewelry work for 20 years. It would be an honor to get crafty with you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will set a time to talk over the phone to access students ultimate goals for lesson. Depending on goals and how long they will take to accomplish will determine how many sessions we would need. This phone consultation is free of charge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the local arts community going on 20 years. My art was selected and sold at a live auction where the proceeds helped in rehabilitation of the animals affected from an oil spill. I've volunteered my time as an Art Therapist at a local homelessness community here in Raleigh NC helping folks find therapy through art.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge a minimum of $35.00 per hour for my time as your instructor. I charge 25¢ per mile travel reimbursement for clients more than 10 miles from my studio. I will bring the supplies needed for the instruction and will provide an invoice prior to lesson on cost of supplies needed.
How did you get started teaching?
When my daughter was an infant, teaching was something that allowed me the freedom to make my own schedule. When I opened my bead store in 2003, teaching jewelry classes was a high priority on my list. My daughter is now 18, she has been homeschooled with a major emphasis on art as therapy. She is also an artist and enjoys making jewelry to match specific outfits.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types of students. Special needs, autistic students, students with ADHD, young, old and every where in between. Art knows know boundaries of who can be taught.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be open to art. It may be the answer to what you are searching for. Be patient with yourself. We are our own worst critics. Allow yourself the freedom of expression through a journey with color.
