What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We love having new students enroll in our program! We always love meeting them face to face to get to know each individual student so that we can better cater our classes to them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a 9th degree black belt and have been teaching martial arts since 1986 in the triangle area. I have been training all my life and continue to do so every day. I have many students who have been under my instruction for over 30 years and would love to contunie building black belts.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been practicing martial arts my whole life and was actually the president of our martial arts club in college. From there, I moved on to open up my own school and today, I have mutliple locations and ensure that I'm on the mats, continuing to teach every day
What types of students have you worked with?
Our program starts at age 3 and we have experience working with all children, teens, adults, and seniors. You're never too old to start learning something new
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
An annual event we host every year is our Black Belt World Festival. This is an oppotunity for our students to truly showcase their skills and what they have learned through our program. This family friendly competition awards students for their hard work and offers an opportunity to foster their growth and make new friends by meeting students from other locations.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Passion is more valuable than any rank or degree. I've been in this business a long time, and someone could say that they've been training in martial arts for 20 years, but if they don't have the passion to teach, then it's a waste of time.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
We specialize in a lot more than just kicking and punching. Martial arts is about discipline, respect, integrity, and overall character. Before signing up, ask yourself how you can improve. Everyone has room to grow, so keep an open mind, and start your free trial today!
