What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students are personally taught by me and frequent feedback and positive reinforcement is provided.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 22 years of experience, including more than 17 years as a black belt. I routinely attend camps and seminars to improve my knowledge of my art and to enhance my teaching skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Monthly instruction for ages 5-6 is $60. Classes are twice a week and last for 30 minutes. Ages 7-14 have 60 minute classes twice a week and cost $80 per month. Ages 15 and above also on $80 per month but there classes last 90 minutes, twice a week.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by volunteering for my instructor and with his permission and guidance began teaching on my own in 2008.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from age 5 to 60+, both male and female.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am always please when student rise to a rank where they can begin student teaching and demonstrate how they can share what they have learned with others. We build leaders in our program!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a couple of introductory or free classes. Pay attention to how the instructor(s) get along with their students. Be cautious when asked to sign long contracts.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
